The annual GSAI members conference will take place at Trinity College Dublin from 8-9 December 2023. This will be an in-person event.

Abstracts (100-150 words) are invited for papers of about 20 minutes duration on any topic within German Studies. This year, we are particularly interested in abstracts on German Studies and the Medical Humanities, but we equally welcome papers on all areas including, but not limited to:

  • German and comparative literatures and cultures
  • Linguistics
  • Film studies and visual culture
  • Politics and current affairs
  • Gender and queer studies
  • Care studies
  • Ageing studies
  • Ecocriticism
  • Didactic methods and approaches
  • Translation Studies

We invite papers from all career stages, but postgraduates and early career researchers are particularly encouraged. Papers can be delivered in either German or English. All speakers should be members of GSAI or join at the conference.

Please send abstracts of 100-150 words, including the name and short biographical note of the speaker, the title of the paper, and full contact details to Linda.Shortt@mu.ie and Michaela.Schrage-Frueh@universityofgalway.ie by 15 September 2023.
